AMY PHONE’S ART EXHIBITION FUND RAISING FOR PRINCESS MARGARET CANCER FOUNDATION
Amy Phone will hold an art exhibition on July 9 to 14 in Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto and fund raising for Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation
Amy Phone, an amateur artist in Thornhill, is the current Vice President of the Chinese Art and Education of Canada. She loves art and Chinese paintings. When as a high school student in Hong Kong, she learned painting from the famous Lin-Nan artist, Mr. CHAO Shao An, and could pretty well pick up the master’s style of painting. Amy works tirelessly in improving her painting skills. She also studied painting in Toronto from the late Mr. NG Yee Sang who was famous in painting peacocks, Mr. MENG Bao Qing, a Shanghainese artist, Mr. SHAN Bai Qin who is famous in figure painting and his wife, Ms HO Shue Ping who teaches detailed Chinese painting skills. Amy loves to explore and paints a variety of subjects, such as landscape, flowers and birds, animals and figure painting, etc. Her skills in bird painting has received high regards. Her work has combined traditional brush art skills as well as innovative ideas.
In view of cancer being one of the largest causes for illness and deaths, Amy has decided to use her love for art to raise funds for cancer prevention and treatment. In 2003, she did a solo art exhibition for Canadian Cancer Society and raised $5103.40 for their research funds. This year Amy will do another solos art exhibition to raise research funds, this time for Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (PMCF). http://thepmcf.ca/Events.aspx?page2
All proceeds minus expenses will be donated to PMCF.
Everyone is welcome. Admission is free. Please donate in lieu of flowers. There will also be Amy’s first art book on sale with a collection of Amy’s 127 selected paintings.

Daily 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. except Thursday 11 am to 4 p.m.
